Poem

      FLOWING

      one red flower
      still blooms -
      autumn foliage

      the single man's
      letterbox tied to a post
      with a nylon stocking

      footpath
      every pebble
      has its own shadow

      a maze of
      tyre marks
      & rabbit droppings

      approaching the highway
      our footsteps
      quicken

      her arm
      and the dog's tail
      moving together

      passing trucks -
      the wooden footbridge
      shakes

      crushed agapanthus
      fatal accident site

      the creek's uninterrupted flow

(Bookman Old Style: Patricia Prime Italics: Catherine Mair)
