      Mahogany Women

      Mahogany Women
      living statues
      shaped with clay
      breathe crisp clear voices
      oiled with aloe
      soft as fern
      accented with reggae root
      Brown brown bright eyes
soak in every sort of thing
      Skin
      finished
      is smooth as butter
      Loose the thread
      and gasp
      as the hand of God
      mocks
      every
      wooden forgery
      ever forged
