Poem

      Improbable Portrait

An ugly, undesirable monster. Monsters are
invariably unhappy - they are projections of one's
unhappiness with oneself, more particularly of one's
aggression and, at its most extreme, mindless
      destructiveness, an invariable response to
narcissistic hurt - whereas one becomes a prince or
princess to oneself when one is happy

      creative vision
      the eye of the beholder
      misted by passion

One can make monsters of fragments from the
happier, more narcissistically satisfying past, in
the hope they will appear uncannily beautiful in the
eye of the beholder, despite the fact they ostensibly
look ugly. The monster to himself can become
beautiful in how own eyes - by the love of a
      beautiful woman

      love conquers all
      she saves him from unhappiness
      beauty and the beast

The old story of the princess waiting to be
saved by the dragon by the strength of the hero:
he has to wait to be saved from the dragon –
which he himself is - by the love of the princess.
But she's unable to love because she's a bit of a
      dragon herself

      she prefers puzzles -
      disguise of the fragmented self
      the dragon lady
