About the Authors

JOHN GARDINER: lives in Canada. His stories are appearing widely in New Zealand, USA, Canada and the UK, including The Richmond Review. He has also broadcast on Canadian radio.
JULES LEIGH KOCH was born in Sydney in 1958 and raised in Adelaide. Presently a part time School Service Officer at Ashfield Special School and a parent. Has lived and worked as agardener, house parent, farmhand and in childcare and also lived and worked on the North Island of New Zealand. Founding member of the Kensington / Norwood writing group in 1986 and along time member of the SA Writers Centre. he has been published in Redoubt, Matoid, Southerly, Hermes and Going Down Swinging.
BARRY SOUTHAM: Lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand. Has had many poems and stories published internationally, three plays produced, two collections of poetry and a collection of stories. A former gambling addiction counsellor and real estate agent, in Christchurch and Auckland New Zealand.
ADRIAN Manning: Lives and writes in Norfolk, UK. Has had poetry published in a number of magazines, in print and on-line.
ALFRED NIESSEN: An expatriot New Zealander who has been living in Europe for the last ten years. After graduating in English Literature and Art History from Albertus Magnus University he now lives, writes, translates and consumes, in Cologne.
HARRY JOHNSON: Lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand. has had poetry published recently in Takahe and Jaam, Ulikarea and Quadrant, in the UK and USA. Also in Other Poetry, Rialto and Sun.
TRINA STOLEC: Lives in Ohio, USA. Has has many poems published on-line including Black Cross, Eclectica, EWG Presents, Free Cuisenart, Recursive Angel, Spilled Ink and Tome Of Literati.
ROSAMOND ROWE: Naturalist and animal lover, Rosamond has published two books of autobiography, "Feet Upon a Rock" and "A Fringe of Reeds". She also writes short stories and essays. Rosamond lives in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
ALAN PAPPRILL: Taught English in Rotorua, New Zealand. Has had poetry and stories published in USA and New Zealand. Third placegetter in Air NZ / Sunday Times short story competition, 1986. Now lives and writes in Wanganui, New Zealamnd, after spending time overseas.
JOHN ALLISON: The featured poet in Poetry NZ #14. A collection of recent poems, Both Roads Taken recently published. John is a teacher in Lyttleton, NZ. His poems have appeared in NZ, Australia, the UK and USA.
ZANE IVY: Originally from USA but has lived most of his adult life in Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Micronesia. Currently living in Korea where he teaches, writes and paints and performs his music. His poetry has appeared in Agnieszka's Dowry, Grevity, The Free Cuisenart, Moonshade and other literary journals.
LOUIS ARMAND: Teaches at the Department of English and American studies, Philosophical faculty, Charles University, CZ.
JENNIFER COMPTON: Lives and writes in New South Wales, Australia.
MARY CRESSWELL is a retired science editor, technical editor and proofreader. From California, and now living in Wellington New Zealand. Began writing stories and poems in 1997.
ALAN KAUFMAN: A San Francisco poet who has appeared widely in many print anthologies and magazines, both on line and in print.
HOLLY PETTIT: Served as a Russian Linguist for the U.S. Army, graduated Harvard Divinity School and worked for the homeless in Boston, USA. She lives Darmstadt, Germany. A member of the online forum, Zeugma, her short stories and poems have appeared in various periodicals.
ROBERT JOHNSTON: lives in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he teaches, writes and studies.
TONY BEYER: Teaches at Auckland Grammar, Auckland New Zealand. His poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies since 1971. Has also published a number of collections. Earlier, Jesus Hobo and The Meat, then Dancing Bear, The Singing Ground and Brute Music. and lately, The Century, and The Male Voice. A a short on line collection of his work is due soon to appear on Southern Ocean Review, and in print.
BARRY SPACKS: has published seven books of poetry. Also a novelist, librettist, singer-songwriter. He taught literature at M.I.T. 1960-81. Now lives in Junction City, CA, USA.

VALENTINA HAZELL: Lives and writes in Australia. This is her first work to appear on line. SETH ABRAMSON: Lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts and attends Haevard Law School as a first year student. Has had poems appearing in The Melic Review, Savoy Magazine, Limestone Magazine, and Eclectica.
MARION JONES lives and writes in Brighton, Otago, New Zealand. She is completing a novel, Mara.
CHRIS MILLER: A secular worker as a HRA liason for teh college Opportunity to Prepare for Employment program, Laguardia Community College, USA. Also works in volunteer bible education. Chris' poems have appeared in many journals and anthologies. CARLA HESLOP: Has a degree in psychology from Canterbury University, New Zealand and has developed "A Positive Start", a motivational course for three to ten year olds. RON HANN: Lives and writes in Christchurch, New Zealand.
GERRI REAVES: is spending a year in the Cayman Islands, teaching at the community college there. She has published essays in Studies in Popular Culture, Passages North, The Carrell and Literature-Film Quarterly.
KELLY ADAMS: Lives on a small island off the eastern coat of the USA and works as an assistant webmaster and business manager. Enjoys writing for job and hobby, and has been published in Abound Magazine.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998.
