About the Authors

RHONDA BARTLE is a New Zealand writer whose work has been broadcast on Radio NZ, published in Takahe, NZ Listener and other places. Won third prize in the Star Sunday Times short story competition, 1998.
NAN LESLIE was educated at teh University of New Haven and Connecticut College where she studied Italian literature. Is nominated for the Breadloaf Writers Conference 2000. Had had work published throughout USA and writes a weekly newslatter called "The Daily Grind" for Coffeehouseforwriters.com.
JO ANN HANSEN RASCH is a New Zealand born writer, living in Switzerland, a member of the International Women Writers Guild and the Geneva Writers' Group. Her work has been published in Europe and the USA.
FREDERICK ZACKEL is a contributing editor to January Magazine, the literary websirte. He lives in the USA.
BARRY SOUTHAM: Lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand. Has had many poems and stories published internationally, three plays produced, two collections of poetry and a collection of stories.
HARRY JOHNSTON is the pen name of Michael Knowles, a Welsh writer now living in Auckland, NZ. Has had poetry published in numerous magazines in New Zealand and overseas.
D. S. LONG is a teacher in Wellington, NZ and translator of Pacific Island languages. He founded "EDGE" magazine in 1972, NZ's first international magazine of the arts. He has published two collections of poetry and has had his work published extensively in NZ and around the world.
DAVID HOWARD is a teacher living and writing in New Zealand.
ROBERT JAMES BERRY: A Londoner living is Penang Island, in West Malaysia where he lectures in English, Literature and Language at the University of Science there. Has had poems published in England, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Malaysia, Sweden and Trinidad.
WILLIAM COOK is a Victoria University English Literature Honours student. Has had work published in Canta, Zephyr and Poetry New Zealand. Now working on
a science fiction novel. NANCY FLYNN GROTH: lives in New York, USA. She began writing poems in 1993 and her first book is due later this year. She is currently writing a novel.
ADRIAN MANNING: Lives and writes in Norfolk, UK. Has had poetry published in a number of magazines, in print and on-line.
JOHN O'CONNOR is a Christchurch poet and publisher. His work has been published extensively and he has had several collections of his poetry published.
PATRICIA PRIME: is a poet living in Auckland, well known as a collaborator with Catherine Mair in many forms of poetry - their work appearing in individual collections and anthologies.
MARY CRESSWELL is a retired science editor and technical editor and proofreader. From California, now lives in Wellington New Zealand. Began writing stories in 1997.
POOJA MITTAL has had work published in various NZ magazines including JAAM, and Takahe. Also her work has been selected for two anthologies to be released by the International Library of Poetry. She was born and brought up in Nigeria; now a student at Auckland University.
WENDY A. HOWE lives in Wallkill, New York working as a self-employed computer teacher. Her work has appeared in various poetry anthologies in America. She hopes her literary themes will help transcend the mundane ways of life and enter a greater world of imagination
JULES LEIGH KOCH was born in Sydney in 1958 and raised in Adelaide. Presently a part time School Service Officer at Ashfield Special School and a parent. Has lived and worked as a gardener, house parent, farmhand and in childcare and also lived and worked on the North Island of New Zealand. Founding member of the Kensington / Norwood writing group in 1986 and along time member of the SA Writers Centre. he has been published in Redoubt, Matoid, Southerly, Hermes and Going Down Swinging.
NICK ASCROFT is a student and poet living in Dunedin New Zealand. His work has appeared widely in magazines in NZ.
TRISH HARRIS is a graduate of the full-time writing course held at Whitireia Polytech, Porirua, NZ, and the poetry workshop at Victoria University.
J. V. FOERSTER is a poet who has lived throughout the USA and now lives in Portland Oregon. A winner of two honourable mentions from the Oregon State Poetry Association, he work has appeared widely in magazines.
MARTHA MORSETH: Has published in many magazines in NZ.1996, second in the NZ Poetry Society's International Competition and highly commended in 1997. A recently retired teacher, Martha lives in Dunedin, New Zealand.
NANCY FLYNN GROTH: lives in New York, USA. She began writing poems in 1993 and her first book is due later this year.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and the Columba College exhibition 1999. xhibitions throughout Central Otago are planned in the next few months.
