About the Authors


DWIGHT GEDDES was born in Kingston, Jamaica and now resides in New York. He has written a short story collection entitled ‘Genesis,’ and his first novel ‘The Prodigal’s Return’ was recently published by Denlingers Press. You can contact Mr. Geddes via email at Geddes
BOYD WIDGER lives and writes in Hamburg, NY, USA
NATHANIEL SMITH was recently published in Savoy, an online journal. Recently, he graduated from Truman State University (Missouri, USA) with a BA in English. In October 2002 he will begin training to be a TA at Florida State University where he has been admitted to the graduate creative writing program. Currently, he reads fiction for the Green Hills Literary Lantern, an annual publication.
L. E. SCOTT is an African American jazz poet, born in Cordele, Georgia, USA. His work has been published in magazines, journals and newspapers in New Zealand, Australia and the U.S.A. He has also had 15 books of poetry and prose published, dealing with subjects ranging from his childhood in the American South of the 1950's to his experience in the Vietnam War and his involvement in the civil rights struggle in the 1960's and '70's.
CORRINE DE WINTER is a citizen of the world.
BETTY ANN MATTHEWS lives and writes in Nelson, New Zealand.
MARK PIRIE is publisher and editor of Headworx publishers and editor of JAAM (Just Another Art Movement). His latest book of poems, The Blues has just been recently published. Also his first book of short stories, Swing and Other Stories has just been published.
ALAN COULL is a New Zealand writer, living in Christchurch, New Zealand.
ERIC MOULD is a widely published New Zealand writer living in Christchurch, New Zealand.
ALEX KALDERIMIS splits his spare time between teaching English as a Foreign Language, studying for his BAHons in Latin, acting in various impoverished theatre groups and lamenting the price of good cookbooks. He lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
JOHN SWEET has been writing for 20 years now, publishing in the small press.. Recent work has appeared in Skidrow Penthouse, Fluid Ink Press, Free Verse and Retort. Upcoming chapbooks in 2002 from Ravena Press, Via Dolorosa Press and Black Hoody Nation. He lives in NY, USA.
STEVEN LAIRD IS a Canadian writer, editor of a small literary journal, "lichen." His first book-length poetry collection, "The Habit of Wood," will be published later this year in Canada.
PATRICIA PRIME: Lives in Auckland, New Zealand. Well known for her Haiku and Haliban poetry, her work has been in various anthologies, and she has edited recent anthologies.
BEN KEMP recently moved up to Auckland, New Zealand. He has published discreetly over the past year or 2. He was invited to read on Montana National Poetry Day along with 5 others at Auckland Central Library.
IAIN BRITTON is a teacher at King's School, Auckland, New Zealand. His work has been recently published in Poetry New Zealand and in a number of magazines in England - Poetry Monthly, the Forward Press and by Agenda (London). Also Jaam 14 has just published a number of his poems.
JANET BUCK is a three-time Pushcart Nominee and the author of four collections of poetry. Her work has recently appeared in Three Candles, PoetryBay, Red River Review, Runes, Stirring, The Concrete Wolf, Branches, The Carriage House Review, Facets, The Circle, Sand to Glass, The American Muse, and hundreds of journals world-wide. In 2002, Buck's poetry is scheduled to appear in Artemis, The Montserrat Review, Recursive Angel, Apples & Oranges, Pig Iron Malt, Gertrude, The Pedestal Magazine, Southern Ocean Review, and The Pittsburgh Quarterly. Recent awards include Sol Magazine's 2001 Poem of the Year, The 2001 Kota Press Anthology Prize, and The Thunder Rain Award. ERIC MOULD lives in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand. His work has been published in a number of NZ literary magazines.
TREVOR REEVES: Editor and Publisher of Southern Ocean Review and poet - writer of short stories that have appeared in print and electronic magazines widely.
JANET BUCK teaches writing and literature at college level in the USA. Her homepage has received over 30 awards. Her poems have been published widely, and has been afeatured poet for magazines such as Seeker Magazine, Vortex, Conspire and others. her first collection, Calamity's Quilt is due shortly.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999.
