About the Authors


MARLO MASENI has traveled coast to coast in the USA in search of a literary home; finally settling in Southern California. Her essays have been published in Abstracts Magazine; her fiction has been published in Wandering Dog and Muse Apprentice Guild. She is currently working toward having her novels published in print.
J. DIXON HEARNE Recent publishing credits include stories in Oxford Magazine, Big Muddy, Journal of the Mississippi Valley and Reflactions Journal - received the 2003 editors' choice award for his story, 'The tap Root'. J. Dixon Hearne has been devoted to teaching reading and literacy coursework at the secondary and university levels.
ISHA WAGNER moved to Dunedin from Auckland, New Zealand where her ancestors arrived in 1880. She also writes short stories and novels and has had work published in NZ.
ALEX KEEGAN lives and writes in England. His work has been in the form of stories and crime novels and many of his stories have been published worldwide.
RAMESH DOOHAN is a 28 year old student and an English Major. He lives in British Colombia and his works have appeared in the Skyline Magazine, Bay Review, Attic Magazine, etc.
PETER OLDS is a former Burns Fellow of Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand. Since 1971 he has had poetry published in many New Zealand magazines and poetry anthologies. His selected poems will be published shortly.
RICK TAYLOR lives and writes in Canada. His work has appeared in Going Down Swinging, Papertiger, The Black Bear Review, Poetry Salzberg Review, Canadian Literature etc. Recently he was placed second in the Alternative Writing Contest (poetry) at Ripple Effect Press.
MARK MURPHY was born in Holmfirth (UK). He went to North Staffordshire Polytech where he studied Philosophy. His first collection of poems, Tin Cat Alley was published in 1996 by Spout Publications. He is presently working on poems about David Hockney's paintings.
RANGI FAITH lives Rangiora, New Zealand. is poems have been published in New Zealand in magazines and anthologies. He is presently working on a new book of poetry,
'Conversations with a Moahunter' and writing educational books for children. He has a writing spot in Troutfisher, a magazine on flyfishing in New Zealand.
SHAWNTE ORION lives in the USA and is the winner of Red Booth's fourth chapbook context.
TONY BEYER lives, writes and teaches in Auckland New Zealand. His poems have appeared in many anthologies and magazines in New Zealand over the past 35 years.
TANIA BRADY has had some short stories published in Turbine 2002 and in a local women's magazine. She lives in New Zealand.
PETER BAKOWSKI lives in Richmond, Victoria, Australia with his wife, Helen and their son, Walter. He has published five books of poetry, the most recent being Days That we Couldn't Rehearse. His poetry continues to appear in literary magazines worldwide.
RAEWYN ALEXANDER lives and writes in Auckland New Zealand. Her work has been published widely in New Zealand.
ROBERT JAMES BERRY is well known to Southern Ocean Review readers. His work has appeared widely throughout the world.
MARK PIRIE lives, writes and publishes in Wellington New Zealand. His work has appeared widely in New Zealand and overseas. He has edited and published poetry anthologies in New Zealand and many collections of other poets with his HeadworX imprint. He has published several collections of his own poetry.

MARGARET MITCALFE lives and writes in Palmerston North, New Zealand and her work has previously appeared in Southern Ocean Review and many other magazines.
IAN PATERSON lives and writes in Nelson, New Zealand. He is an outdoors person who sometimes gets inside to write stories and poetry he would like to share with us.
MARTHA MORSETH lives and writes in Dunedin New Zealand. A former High School Teacher she has turned to poetry in recent years, publishing in many magazines and her own recent collection.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999. Two exhibitions, 2000 and 2001 at the Community Art Gallery, Dunedin NZ. She is presently preparing an art book on the Bain Murders (Dunedin 1994), "In the Grip of Evil" illustrating the sequence of the murders and the background to them.
TREVOR REEVES lives and writes in Dunedin, New Zealand. He co-edits and publishes Southern Ocean Review
