About the Authors

BARRY SOUTHAM: Lives and writes in Christchurch, New Zealand. Has had many poems and stories published internationally, three plays produced, two collections of poetry and a collection of stories. His poetry and stories have appeared in many magazines.
PIETER MAYER lives in Quebeck, Canada. The first of his work was published in 2001 in "Good Old Days" Magazine.
GINNY SWART lives in South Africa, where this story is set.
BOYD WIDGER lives and writes in Hamburg, NY, USA. His work has been published widely, including in past isues of Southern Ocean Review.
KRIS MUNDAY is currently finishing a BA at the University of Auckland, majoring in politics and psychology. He hopes to be able to travel and teach English. He plays guitar in a band and has performed at the Temple on Queen Street, Auckland.
DAVID KING is Fiction Editor of BuzzWords, the UK literary magazine. His work has been broadcast on BBC Radio and has appeared in print or online in various magazines including: Cadenza, Carve Magazine, The Copperfield Review, Eclectica, The New Writer, Peninsular, Southern Ocean Review, and World Wide Writers. He is currently struggling with his second novel.
ROB WALKER lives on a small farm in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. He writes words and music. His poems have been published in Comrades Press, UNO anthology and numerous webzines in Aust, NZ,UK, Eire & US. He also reads regularly at Adelaide's Friendly Street Poets.
IAIN BRITTON'S poetry is widely published in NZ and can be easily accessed online via the New Zealand Electronic Poetry Centre. Overseas literary publications include Links, Manifold, Iota and Orbis (UK) and Slope 16, The Drunken Boat, Conspire, Stirring, Front Street Review, nyc Big City (USA) and Jacket 22 (Aust). Poems are forthcoming in Tinfish, Free Verse, Snow Monkey (USA) and Carillon, Fire (UK) and Masthead (Aust) soon or early in 2004.
SCOTT MALBY is a columnist for a number of ezines and a frequent contributor to internet journals all over the world. He lives in Coos Bay, a fishing community on the Central Oregon coast of the U.S.A. An off the wall interview with him can be found at the Tin Lustre Mobile internet site. He is also the secretary of the Lost Bay Poet's Society whose quirky minutes can be found at harvest-art.com
ISHA WAGNER moved to Dunedin from Auckland, New Zealand where her ancestors arrived in 1880. She also writes short stories and novels and has had work published in NZ including in past issues of Southern Ocean Review.
FRANK PERVAN is the author of six books of poetry. He has had poetry published in New Zealand and overseas magazines. He has wona writing award in the UK and has also written a novel. He lives in Auckland, NZ.
PATRICIA PRIME is an Auckland editor, poet and anthologist, widely published in New Zealand and overseas
R. T. CASTLEBURY is the co-editor and co-publisher of the monthly poetry magazine Curbside Review. His poetry has been published in various magazines, including Zuzu's Petals, RiverSedge, Borderlands, Illya's Honey, Main Street Rag, Poet Lore and Another Chicago Magazine.
ROBERT JAMES BERRY lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand. His first volume, 'Smoke' was published by UPM Press in 2000.
BETTY ANN MATTHEWS lives and writes in Nelson, New Zealand.Her work has been widely published in New Zealand including past issues of Southern Ocean Review.
JULIE MOTA lives and writes in Papua New Guinea. She has had experience as a stage and television performer/worker, visual arts researcher, practitioner and community worker. Recently founded and at present coordinator for a support network for women artists in Melanesia. (Women Artists Networker - Melanesia). Recently in the Australian Cultural Residence Program - Adelaide, Australia.
BERNARD GADD lives and writes in Auckland, New Zealand. Well known as a poet and anthologer and author of many books of poetry over the years.
TREVOR REEVES: Editor and Publisher of Southern Ocean Review and poet - writer of short stories that have appeared in print and electronic magazines widely. Recent book of poetry published "The Poetry Book to Cuddle up in Bed With"
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist, designer and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and exhibited in the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998, and the Cleveland Art Awards, Dunedin, October 1998, and 2001 Also the Columba College exhibition 1999. Two exhibitions, 2000 and 2001 at the Community Art Gallery, Dunedin NZ. Prolific book illustrator including "In the Grip of Evil" Reeves/Wolfe, History of Cobb and co and Dear Pal (stories of the Maniototo). Home Page
