About the Authors

p n w donnelly: a New Zealander born in Stockport (UK). She lives in Auckland and edits 'Spin" as well as writing crime fiction. Donnelly's poems have appeared in New Zealand, Australia and the USA; recently appearing in the three-poet anthology, 'The Short Cut Home.' PETER MUNRO: A biologist/mathematician with the U.S. National Marine Service. He has had poems published in the USA, Canada and now, New Zealand. ELIZABETH SMITHER: is a well known New Zealand poet who has published twelve collections of poetry, including a selected poems: The Tudor Style (Auckland University Press, 1993). Her work has appeared widely in Australia, Canada and Britain. JOHN ALLISON: The featured poet in Poetry NZ #14. A collection of recent poems, Both Roads Taken recently published. John is a teacher in Lyttleton, NZ. His poems have appeared in NZ, Australia, the UK and USA. A retrospective selection of poems, Dividing the Light is due soon. K. R. SWAIN-McFARLANE: lives in rural Western Southland, NZ. Studied fine art for two years at the Timaru Polytech, but first love is writing. DAVID GREGORY: is a Christchurch (NZ) based poet whose first book of poems Always Arriving has just been published. His work is widely published in New Zealand and overseas and he is active in the promotion of poetry in Christchurch. ELIZABETH PULFORD: The winner of four New Zealand national short story competitions. Her work includes poems, articles and short stories. She lives in Oamaru, New Zealand. JOSEPH L. WHITTEN: lives in Odenville, Alabama, USA. He has work published widely in the USA. BARRY SOUTHAM: A poet and story writer for over 30 years, published widely in New Zealand, Australia and Europe. Two books of poems and a collection of stories in addition to three performed plays. Barry lives in Auckland New Zealand and is a former gambling addiction counsellor and journalist. TOM HARPER: lives and writes in Birmingham, Alabama. He has had work published in many magazines and a story read recently on the BBC. He is the editor of Red Mountain Review. G. TIMOTHY GORDON: Presently teaching at Providence University, Shalu, Taiwan, Timothy hails from USA. JORDANNE HOLYOAK: lives in USA and is the editor of The Free Cuisenart. GRAEME COLLINS: Comes from Wellington, New Zealand. Composer, poet and songwriter. A performer with many bands and groups over the last 25 years. BRUCE WILLIAMS: lives in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia. He has had poems and stories published in a few journals and performs his own songs in pubs sometimes. A. D. WINANS: Former editor and publisher of the literary magazine, Second Coming. Has had poems and other writing published in over 300 magazines worldwide and has published books of poems, biography and criticism. Al lives in San Francisco, USA. ALEX KEEGAN: Is the pseudonym of Ron Jones, born Newport, Gwent 1947. Alex writes mystery thrillers but his real love literate fiction. Sixteen stories published and three prizes DAVID EGGLETON: is a poet, writer and literary critic living in Dunedin, New Zealand. He has had poems and stories published widely in NZ and overseas. JOHN GARDINER: lives in Canada. His stories are appearing widely in New Zealand, USA, Canada and the UK. SYLVIA PETTER: Sylvia Petter is Australian and has had stories published in the USA Thema, Echoes, Beginnings, France Europress anthology "Moments in Time", Switzerland Ex Tempore, Geneva Post, anthology "Offshoots IV - Writing in Geneva", Japan Yomimono, Australia Gangway and the UK Pyramid Press anthology "Woman to Woman", July and October 1995 issues of The European. She has just completed her first novel, is working on a short story collection and researching her next novel. Sylvia lives in France with her husband and daughter. JANET KIEFFER: Janet studied fiction at the University of Iowa and is to begin graduate work in creative writing at the University of Colorado. Janet has recently completed her first novel and collection of short stories. GREGGORY MOORE: is a writer who lives in Fullerton, California, USA. JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist and sculptor. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema and guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997.
