About the Authors

MARTHA MORSETH: Has published in many magazines in NZ.1996, second in the NZ Poetry Society's International Competition and highly commended in 1997. Martha lives in Dunedin, New Zealand.
A. D. WINANS: Former editor and publisher of the literary magazine, Second Coming. Has had poems and other writing published in over 300 magazines worldwide and has published books of poems, biography The Charles Bukowski/Second Coming Years and criticism. ABBAS ZAIDI: is a descendant of Urdu's greatest epic poet, Mir Anis. He did MA in English Literature from the University of Punjab where he edited The Ravi for Government College, Lahore (1985), and M.Litt. in Linguistics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, where he edited Interface (1990-91), for the Programme in Literary Linguistics. He taught English Literature in Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan (1986-90), and worked as Assistant Magazine Editor for The Nation , Lahore, (1992-93). Zaidi has written about 300 columns, features and articles. An oblique reference is his first short story. He lives in Brunei with Shazia, Manoo and Mariam.
JOY MACKENZIE: Lives and writes in Auckland New Zealand. She has had a number of poems published. Joy reviews for NZ Listener.
MARTY ROWLANDS: Educated Fairview Primary School, Kings High School, Dunedin Teachers College, Burwood Spinal Unit, University of Otago. Currently part time tutor. Interests include: Disability Rights, fishing, planting native trees. Won Critic Poetry Contest, 1994. Work published in Critic, articles and poetry.
VIDA EVELYN: Former managing editor of a weekly newspaper, she is a free lance writer who lives in New Jersey, USA. For the last six months, Vida has studied with Alex Keegan in his intensive "boot camp" for fiction writers on Compuserve. Dressing Down is her first published short story. She has no conscious memory of visiting strippers bars.
RUDY KREMBERG: Freelance writer based in Toronto, Canada. Most recent fiction credits include The Roswell Literary Review, Storyteller, Parsec, Edge City Review, On Spec , and various anthologies (e.g.: Shivers, Northern Frights 3, the Wordscape series). Earlier stories have appeared in Canadian, American and British publications. Fiction has also been broadcast on radio (CBC) and optioned for television. Non-fiction credits range from general-interest consumer magazines to business and medical periodicals.
ED HAMILTON. Lives and writes in USA. Has had stories published in a number of magazines.
JOHN ROSS: Lives and writes in New Zealand. Has had work published widely.
SYLVIA PETTER: Sylvia Petter is Australian and has had stories published in the USA Thema, Echoes, Beginnings, France Europress anthology "Moments in Time", Switzerland Ex Tempore, Geneva Post, anthology "Offshoots IV - Writing in Geneva", Japan Yomimono, Australia Gangway and the UK Pyramid Press anthology "Woman to Woman", July and October 1995 issues of The European. She has just completed her first novel, is working on a short story collection and researching her next novel. Sylvia lives in France with her husband and daughter.
RAZIK SHAH: Has lived in Vancouver since 1974 and has been a practising lawyer, now writing full time; mainly short stories and a novel set in East Africa. Has a story published in Gowanus.
p n w donnelly: a New Zealander born in Stockport (UK). She lives in Auckland and edits 'Spin" as well as writing crime fiction. Donnelly's poems have appeared in New Zealand, Australia and the USA; recently appearing in the three-poet anthology, 'The Short Cut Home.'
T. DUNN: Her poetry and fiction have appeared in many magazines, including Gypsy and Asylum Annual. Her poetry video, Correspondences, is forthcoming in the Blue Moon Review. She lives in pennsylvania and is co-editor of Zuzu's Petals Quarterly.
JOY MACKENZIE: Lives and writes in Auckland New Zealand. She has had a number of poems published. Joy reviews for NZ Listener.
G. J. MELLING
Born in Liverpool, Gerry Melling studied in Canada where he edited literary magazines, moved to New Zealand where he is an architect. Has written four books on architecture and has published poems and stories internationally for 25 years. His latest collection of poems, Postcards from the Coast, was published in 1997.
KAY COOK: Kay lives and writes in Dunedin, New Zealand, working from home doing home-based childcare. Has had poems published in N Z Poetry Society's publications for the past few years and Takahe 33. Recent publication includes haiku accepted for a New Zealand anthology edited by Cyril Childs.
NEROLI COTTAM: Lives in Cromwell, Otago, New Zealand. Organised a writers' group in Cromwell in 1997, and published an anthology of their work.
RUTH DAIGON: Was editor of Poets On: for twenty years until it ceased publication. She won "The Eves of St. Agnes Award (Negative Capability) 1993. Her poems have been widely published in many magazines. Her latest poetry collection is Between One Future And The Next, Winner of the Ann Stanford Poetry Prize, University of Southern California.
RICHARD REEVE: Studied literature at Otago University. Co-editor of Glottis , a new literary magazine. Has had work published widely in New Zealand including the the New Zealand Poetry Society's anthology, The Ordinary Magic, 1997.
MARY JAKSCH: Lives in New Zealand and has had work published in a number of magazines.
PHILIP HYAMS: An Israeli/Canadian poet residing near Tel Aviv, his first novel was published by Tell Books Canada (Toronto/New York) in 1995. He has performed his poetry in Amsterdam with One World Poetry and has had work published in a number of reviews in England (i.e. First Time) and Israel.
JUDITH WOLFE lives in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is an artist and sculptor. She has exhibited widely throughout New Zealand and some of her works have been in travelling exhibitions overseas. Recent exhibitions at the Empire Cinema, guest artist at the Wanaka Art Group Exhibition, August 1997 and the Warbirds Over Wanaka air show exhibition, Easter, 1998.
