Poem

      Lunacy

Darling the world is wooly and wine.
It's warm when you waltz me and waltz
      when you warm me.
We are drunk as druids from dancing,
      I'm damp in your arms
      in night's silver dazzle
We walk in the wet grass, silk on silk.
Your look of passion and tenderness
      lights you, lights me:
      Let's sway this way
the stars perch in the tree,
the moon with a ring around.
Dance me mad, lover of laughter
      like the moon's orbit, erratic
      the water's flux.
O in the black pond, I'm dizzy
      and thought you fell from the sky;
      your breath against my neck
      is the strongest elixir,
as shape to shape is pressed I tremble
      at what I might reveal.
